A lovely Mallorcan cottage converted from a traditional figueral – a barn used for drying figs. The renovations have been very sensitively done and Villa Can Tonet has kept its original country feel: with stuccoed walls, stone floors and walls, and original beams. It’s in a very peaceful area of countryside known as La Vina, between the sea at Puerto Pollença and the town of Pollença.

The villa shares a gated gravel drive with the neighbouring house. But the pool area at the back of the house is very private. There’s a long covered terrace in front of the house, with lovely views across the pool and garden to countryside and mountains beyond. There’s a barbecue here and a Mallorcan bread oven, and a long dining table and chairs.

Inside, all the rooms are at ground level. The lounge and dining room is a particularly elegant room - with a wood-burning stove, antique country-furniture, and traditional Mallorcan bench seats under the window. The kitchen has lots of storage space in dark-wood cupboards, and appliances including a dishwasher.

There are two bedrooms at the villa - a double room with a high antique bed, and a bright and airy twin room. Both bedrooms have air-conditioning and they share a bathroom with a bath and a shower.

In the garden there’s a long rectangular pool with a sun-terrace running around it with lots of Mediterranean plants in pots. There’s a lawned area too and a shady canopy over the terrace. Around the garden there are more than twenty different types of fruit tree - reflecting the house’s history growing and drying figs! There are open views from the garden across countryside to the mountains of Es Putxet and the Sierra De Sant Vicens.

Villa Can Tonet is a great place for a family holiday or a break with a small group of friends. It’s in a lovely part of the countryside that’s also very close to both Puerto Pollença - just 2 minutes away by car - and the historic town of Pollença, which is a 5-minute drive.
