A pretty and practical bungalow-style villa in the heart of the Pollença countryside – in Almadrava. It’s in a picturesque spot down a country lane right next to the area’s little stream, known as El Rec, and with lovely open views all around to the mountains. This part of the countryside is itself very flat and has lots of areas of woodland so there are gentle and shady walks close by.

Inside, the villa is light and airy, comfortable and modern, with neutral colours and simple furniture. All the rooms are at ground level. There’s a spacious and comfortable lounge with satellite tv and a dvd and stereo. The kitchen is very practically designed with lots of storage space in fitted units, plenty of work-surface, a table and chairs, and appliances including a dishwasher and a large fridge-freezer.

There are two bedrooms, a double room and a twin room. Both have lovely bright linens and great views out over the garden and countryside. The double room has its own en-suite bathroom with a bath and a shower and there’s also a second separate bathroom, again with a bath and a shower.

The garden at the house is very private and well designed with a long raised pool, lawns, and lots of colourful Mediterranean plants. It’s shaded by the beautiful mature trees in the nearby woodland. A covered terrace overlooks the pool and garden – there’s a barbecue here too – and this is a really quiet and relaxing place to sit and read or eat outside, from breakfast right through into the evening. The garden’s also a very family-friendly place with lots of space for running around, and there’s a gate to close off the driveway.

This is a great villa in a lovely part of the gentle countryside around Pollença. It’s a very well looked-after house and it’s ideal for a family holiday or as a base for walking and exploring the area, bird watching or sketching. It’s also just a short drive from here to all the best things about this part of Mallorca: the historic old town of Pollença is a 10-minute drive away and the beach and sea at Puerto Pollença, or Alcudia, are also 10 minutes away by car.
