Pollenca Sleeps 8 
This is a lovely brand new country villa built-in traditional Mallorcan style, along the country road leading from the old town of Pollenca. Villa Mercarder is set back off the road down a pretty winding driveway and has large gardens with mountain views all around. Inside, the villa is an elegant combination of traditional and modern design with large and high-ceiling rooms, with white walls and antique dark-wood furniture. The house is air-conditioned and heated throughout. On the ground floor there is a pretty country kitchen with marble surfaces, and appliances including a dishwasher and a microwave. Doors from the kitchen open out onto the covered terrace which overlooks the gardens and pool. There's also a double-height dining room on the ground floor - with a wood-burning stove for cooler evenings in early or late season. French doors from this room lead out onto the vine-covered terrace at the side of the house. A staircase leads up from here to the mezzanine lounge which has satellite television and a dvd player/cd stereo. There are also two twin bedrooms on the ground floor which share a bathroom with a bath and a shower. On the first floor there are two further bedrooms, a twin room and a double room, which share a second bathroom which also has a bath and a shower. The gardens and outside space at Villa Mercarder are particularly well designed with lawns, lots of flowers and herbs in summer, olive trees, and pomegranate and almond trees. There's a brick-built barbecue on the vine-covered terrace at the side of the house. The new pool is a generous size and is very private here in the gardens at the back of the house. Villa Mercarder is a lovely place to stay and because of its layout - with two bedrooms on each floor - it is especially well designed for two families sharing a holiday together.
