Pollenca Sleeps 5 
Cal Rei is a lovely cottage-style villa hidden away down a country lane, halfway between the old town of Pollenca and the beaches of Puerto Pollenca. This is an area of gentle flat countryside and so is ideal for cycling and walking. The house and garden are surrounded by lush cypress trees and cacti which give shelter and privacy especially to the pool area. The pool is an elegant asymmetric shape, with a lawn and a sunbathing terrace running around it. It has a shallow splash area for children. The garden is full of fruit trees - almonds, apricots, plums and figs. There's also a covered terrace here overlooking the pool, and a separate brick-built barbecue and poolside shower bathroom. The house is a simple cottage-style design with thick whitewashed walls and deep windowsills with wooden shutters. The kitchen and lounge have polished pebble floors and the bedrooms have terracotta-tiled floors. The lounge, dining-room and kitchen are all open-plan in an L-shape overlooking the pool and garden. These rooms have a beamed ceiling and Mallorcan country artifacts displayed on the walls. The lounge area has a fireplace, comfortable chairs and a satellite television and a dvd player. In the dining area there's a table and chairs to seat eight. The kitchen has traditional features such as a pebbled worktop and stone sinks and modern appliances including a gas hob, an electric oven and a microwave. Also on the ground floor there's a double bedroom with a very stylish antique bed and dresser, and lovely views over the garden. The adjacent room is a full bathroom with a bath and a shower. On the first floor there are two more bedrooms - an airy twin room with dark-wood beds and wardrobes - and a smaller single room. Cal Rei is a comfortable and simply designed Mallorcan home with a lovely pool and mature garden. It's in a very pretty rural setting with gentle countryside all around and yet is only a 10-minute drive from Pollenca and Puerto Pollenca.
