A very comfortable and stylish home full of great design. Can Na Guillona is a new stone house in the countryside outside Pollença, towards Alcudia. It’s surrounded by gentle and flat countryside and farmland with long views down to the bay of Pollença.

Inside, the house is wonderfully light and bright – mixing traditional Mallorcan materials with modern luxury and high-quality fittings and furniture. The rooms have white walls, terracotta-tiled floors and high beamed ceilings. There’s a large square lounge with a separate dining room through an archway. The lounge has pale sofas around a fireplace, and this room also has satellite tv and dvd and stereo. The kitchen is brand-new with a sleek modern design with dark wood units, and appliances including a dishwasher – laundry facilities are in a separate a utility area. The kitchen also leads out on the covered terrace with a feature barbecue and wonderful pool area.

Two of the bedrooms are on the ground floor – a double and a twin room. The double room has French doors with lovely views of the garden and countryside. These rooms share a bathroom with a bath and a shower. There are two more bedrooms on the first floor: another double and another twin room. The double is a particularly lovely room with a very luxurious bathroom with a jaccuzzi-bath. The twin room has double doors out onto the upper terrace which has stunning views across the pool to the surrounding countryside. There’s a third bathroom here on the first floor too, with double showers. All the bedrooms are air-conditioned and have plenty of storage in fitted wardrobes.

There’s lots of garden space and terracing at the house, looking out over fields to the mountains near Pollença and right down to the sea. A covered terrace with a table-tennis table runs along the back of the house overlooking the large rectangular pool. There are wide lawns and the gardens have been newly landscaped with palm trees and shrubs. The house and garden area are also very private – down a long gated drive.

Ca Na Guillona is a very welcoming and relaxing house full of stylish spaces. It’s a lovely place for a family holiday or a break with friends. It is a short walk from Finca Las Rocas De Guixe so groups of up to 18 could stay together at both villas. Its pretty countryside location also makes it a great base for walking and bird-watching. And all the great things about this part of the island are close by – Pollença’s historic old town, and the sea at Puerto Pollença and Alcudia are just a 10-minute drive away.
